I wanted to share this recipe that I eat practically every morning AFTER my swims in the summer months because of its high Glycemic Index properties. It’s something I am so excited to share with you today. Remember — it’s OK to eat high Glycemic Index fruits after a workout.

All this and more details on how, what and when to eat, food combining and more can be found in our Perfect Diet Program at www.TheMangoManDiet.com

By the way, I have a new radio show partner, the Great FRANK KING — truly a funny man. He and his wife, Wendy, live in Seattle and we met as a result of the National Speakers Association about 20 years ago. We decided a couple weeks ago to do a new interview series entitled “Health and Humor.” And our new website, StuffandFluff.net, which will house that content will be up and running real soon. So keep an eye out for an announcement on that.

Back to my morning meal … it was this recipe, which I’m going to share with you as it was a winner from the very first mouthful to the last morsel of it, and you’ll learn a lot about papayas after the recipe, one of the key ingredients for it.

Sooooooo … here’s the list of ingredients for this awesome smoothie:

  • Half a papaya (removing the skin and seeds)
  • 1 Mango (removing the skin and seed)
  • 3 Bananas
  • 2 Medjool Dates (removing the seed — and the Medjool Dates are among my favorites but any date you like will do well for this recipe)

It’s ridiculously simple to put it all together: Dump all the ingredients in your blender, and blend on high speed for 60 seconds. Now empty the blended contents into a large drinking container and enjoy this sweet, delicious smoothie.

A lot of people have been asking me if the taste of papayas is supposed to be so unique. And I have to say that they are a completely different taste, but when I know something is that good for me I just get into it. Now, I love them, and here are some of the wonderful benefits of papayas:

  • Papaya is a fruit high in fiber, which lowers cholesterol levels. Papaya contains antioxidants which prevents the cholesterol from oxidizing. When cholesterol in the body gets oxidized, it can lead to heart-attacks. The anti-oxidants in Papaya also help in controlling premature aging, which helps to give a young look.

  • Papayas contain enzymes like Arginine and Carpain. Arginine is essential for male fertility and Carpain is considered to be good for the heart.

  • Papaya can be eaten as a fruit, used in a smoothie or even in a milkshake.

  • Papaya also helps in getting rid of acne and makes the skin glow. Papaya contains the enzyme Papain which helps to dissolve dead skin, thus giving a fresh and clean glow to the face.

  • Papayas contain a high amount of potassium and are very high in Vitamin A.

  • Papaya seeds and leaves are useful in treating intestinal worms found in the body.

  • Papaya helps prevent constipation and also aids in digestion. Papain, which I just mentioned, also is a digestive enzyme that helps in natural digestion process.

  • Papaya Juice (Homemade of course) helps to ease infections of the colon by clearing away the infection, pus and mucus.

  • The skin of the papaya is excellent for treating skin wounds in places that do not heal quickly.

  • Regularly consuming papaya helps to relieve morning sickness and nausea.

  • Papaya has anti-inflammatory properties and anti-cancerous properties. The anti-inflammatory properties in papaya will help reduce pain for those suffering from arthritis, edema and osteoporosis.

  • The high concentration of Vitamin C and Vitamin A contained in papaya is very beneficial to strengthen the immune system.

  • Papaya is also very good for the hair and helps in controlling dandruff. Papaya shampoos are good for the hair and are available in many health stores.

  • Raw papaya also helps in reducing menstrual irregularities for women. Papaya helps to ease the condition by promoting natural flow of menstruation.

  • Papaya cleans the stomach and studies have shown that papaya alone eaten for 3 to 4 days has a highly beneficial tonic effect upon the stomach and intestines.

I know in the past I’ve shared a mountain of benefits to eating bananas and mangoes, but if you missed that information then email me and I’ll be happy to send that out to you.

Now let me say that all these ingredients are in peak season right now. If you can get these organically grown … all for the better. I would like to suggest at this point that everyone should support their local organic farmers. They’re the lifeblood of our country.
