Weight Loss

Weight Loss Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   We all like to help others. That’s just the way it is. Have you ever noticed how so many overweight people are selling all those “healthy” pills, potions and lotions to lose weight and “CURE” the issue of being overweight? Here’s the thing: There is no such thing as a cure. The situation we find ourselves in IS THE CURE!   So don’t expect others to listen to your advice and ignore the living example that they see right in front of them. We must let the dignity of our example be the message. You have to ask yourself, How many times has HAMLET been played around the world? Thousands of times; but when Richard Burton did it, WOW! Same words, same play, same message, just a Vastly Different Messenger. Hence the Messenger is more important than the message. You can see an example of that here: www.TheMangoManDiet.com   Dr. Wayne certainly leads by example, as can be seen in his profile photo on this blog site. He ta...

Weeds and Nutrition

Weeds and Nutrition Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   It’s easy to backslide at times nutritionally, but here is a little something for you to be thinking about during that process of backsliding. When you plant a garden, one thing you don’t ever have to plant are the weeds. They just come up all by themselves and don’t need any nurturing at all. And if we don’t cull them out, they will take over as sure as shootin’! Then when we plant the vegetables, we really have to give them special attention or the weeds will take over in no time.   Well it’s the same with our nutritional habits. When we backslide into the junk food, then those habits will soon take over our more healthful habits without much encouragement at all. Then we have a mess of weeds to tend to instead of the rewards of eating the best most of the time. Let me share something with you about the transformation I made years ago.   I got rid of all the junk in my house so I wouldn’t e...

Did you know, what are the Three Foods you have to Avoid at All Cost

Three Foods to Avoid at All Cost Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   If you’re looking for optimal health, there comes a point when you just have to eliminate the types of foods that wreak the most havoc in your body. Most of them could fall under these categories. Anything that is: WHITE FIZZES GREASY   Foods that are white or fizz disrupt all these body systems: Skeletal Nervous Glandular Digestive Respiratory Urinary All the senses of your body — touch, taste, smell, sight, hearing as well as your emotions.   Greasy/slick foods wreak havoc with these body systems: Cardiovascular Lymphatic Reproductive Muscular   If you are having trouble with any of your 10 systems that make up your wonderful body, then eliminate those corresponding categories of foods and just watch your affected areas make dramatic improvements. Remember what Dr. Wayne says about anything white: “If it’s not white, it’s not r...

The Distilled Water Myth

The Distilled Water Myth Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   Let’s dispel the myth about the proper kind of water to drink. My first comment is that we can’t get clean water out of a dirty pipe. And when I interviewed Olympic athletes a few years back about what they do to maintain their health and energy on a busy travel schedule, one of the three things they all had in common was, and I say this verbatim, “Wayne, we never drink the crap from the tap!” That statement has changed a lot of people’s thinking about better water to drink!   In his book, “The Choice is Clear”, by Dr. Allen E. Banik, he describes distilled water as “the only water that is pure – the only water free from all impurities.”   Distilled water acts as a solvent in the body. It dissolves food substances so they can be assimilated and taken into every cell. It dissolves inorganic mineral substance, acid crystals and all other waste products so that these can be eliminated in th...

The Case of Man being a Consumer of Vegetation

The Case of Man being a Consumer of Vegetation Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   It’s been more than 30 years since I began trying to find out about how to be healthy, as I battled with it for so long. I just wanted to know how I could live my life without all the hassles I was sort of just getting used to, thinking it was just a part of life and was supposed to get worse as I got older. After having been as much as 50 pounds overweight, with three serious bouts of Rheumatic Fever, gout at age 23 and laid up for over three weeks in West Texas, terrible gum problems, Rheumatoid Arthritis so bad I had to quit one job in the oil fields — and I could go on with the frequent sinus problems and horrendous stomach problems with gas that defied description — I was almost ready to give up.   But then I moved to Florida where I saw a bunch of people who were enjoying health to the max and that rekindled my spirit. But I really had no one to glean from so it was all a t...

Did you know what are the Seven Rules for Proper Food Combining

Seven Rules for Proper Food Combining Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   Food will rot whenever it is allowed to remain for a prolonged period at a temperature at or above 85 degrees. Everyone has had occasion to see and smell food rotting. When it is improperly combined or overeaten, t his rotting or fermentation is what happens to food that remains undigested in the stomach , which has a temperature of 104-106 degrees during digestion. The body goes through a state of shock, and tries to get rid of the unwanted matter by discharging more chemicals into the stomach. The symptoms that may occur are: gas, flatulence, heartburn, upset stomach, regurgitation and diarrhea. If you follow these seven rules for food combining when you eat, you can eliminate those symptoms and you’ll be amazed at the results:   1.      Proteins and starches should not be eaten together Mixing proteins and starches is one of the worst of the disease-producing ...

Mango Mambo and Pineapple-Orange Sorbets

Mango Mambo and Pineapple-Orange Sorbets Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   What’s for breakfast? That’s always a big question. Too often it’s nothing or maybe some coffee. Don’t do it! Let’s answer that question very simply: fruit. That’s it. Fruit. That’s all you need to remember. Fruit is such a great way to start out your day. Full of vitamins, antioxidants and energy.   And here are a couple of great sorbets to start out your day. Why not? Why not make breakfast as tasty and inviting as can be? Or, if you prefer, you can add a little liquid (distilled water and crushed ice are best) to make them into morning smoothies. Yum! This is a great way to get incredibly amazing and tasty treats that are about as healthy as you can get.   MANGO MAMBO SORBET INGREDIENTS: 5 bananas 4-6 dates (preferably the choice Medjool variety) 2-3 mangoes   Slice the bananas into a mixing bowl or container, and do the same after cutting...

Post-Thanksgiving Eating Plan

Post-Thanksgiving Eating Plan Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   If you’re like many people out there who have stuffed themselves over Thanksgiving, you’re not alone. And if you’re feeling like, “OK, I got that big, high-calorie meal in yesterday, now I need to do better,” you’re not alone there either.   But here’s the thing: Most weight loss programs out there have the ridiculous concept of reducing the amount of food you eat, which actually lowers your metabolic rate to next to nothing and, of course, that is counter-productive to your main goal of weight loss.   If you are in a malnourished, calorie-starved state, then you start burning muscle instead of the fat you want to get rid of in the first place. We want you to eat lots and lots of food — more of the lower calorie, highly nutritional good stuff, like fruits and vegetables.   You’ll get lots of food, great nutrition, and when you put the good calories into your body, you are t...

Nutrition: Dogs vs. Cats vs. Humans

Nutrition: Dogs vs. Cats vs. Humans Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   Does it ever seem peculiar to you that dog and cat food commercials stress the nutritional qualities of the foods, mentioning that the nutrition in Brand X gives your pet the best chance of growing well and living healthfully? And did you ever ask yourself, why are children’s foods marketed for their colors, shapes exciting qualities and deliciousness, but not the nutrient quality?   Adult foods are promoted for their speed of delivery, their zest, zing and sizzle, but rarely for their health-building qualities. Why are these food commercials invariably followed by commercials for antacids? Did you ever wonder about this? Something to think about.   Our bodies are not garbage dumps with hairy lids. We are marvels of design and are never made to be sick at any age, no matter what anyone else says. Old age doesn’t cause sickness. If that was the case, then everyone who was ...

Natural Peanut Butter – a Healthy Snack for Kids

Natural Peanut Butter – a Healthy Snack for Kids Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   I have a lot of clients and of course I’m always so concerned for those mothers who have kids who come home from school each day and want something to eat. And they want to feed their kids something better than what they were exposed to at the school that day.   Isn’t it pitiful at what is fed to our youth in the school system these days? When I ask most kids what they ate at school that day, they tell me they haven’t a clue … but it was lumpy and had lots of gravy! It always seems to be “lumpy” with gravy. Mystery meat.   How can we raise quality, responsible kids into the magnificent young adults we need to keep our nation strong with a deep sense of morals and abundant health with a decrease in crime when all we feed them is poison?   In a recent seminar I did, we talked about the three foods to avoid at all costs (anything white, anything that fizzes, anyt...

Mango, Papaya, Banana Smoothie

Mango, Papaya, Banana Smoothie Copyright © 2011 Wayne Pickering   I wanted to share this recipe that I eat practically every morning AFTER my swims in the summer months because of its high Glycemic Index properties. It’s something I am so excited to share with you today. Remember — it’s OK to eat high Glycemic Index fruits after a workout.   All this and more details on how, what and when to eat, food combining and more can be found in our Perfect Diet Program at www.TheMangoManDiet.com     By the way, I have a new radio show partner, the Great FRANK KING — truly a funny man. He and his wife, Wendy, live in Seattle and we met as a result of the National Speakers Association about 20 years ago. We decided a couple weeks ago to do a new interview series entitled “Health and Humor.” And our new website, StuffandFluff.net, which will house that content will be up and running real soon. So keep an eye out for an announcement on that.   B...
